LUMS Collaborates with Evercare Hospital to Advance Healthcare Services in Pakistan

Evercare Hospital Lahore affirmed its commitment to LUMS by signing an MoU at a ceremony held on May 27, 2024. The signatories included Dr. Ali Cheema, Vice Chancellor, LUMS, and Mr. Uzair Ali, Director of Total Experience, Evercare Hospital Lahore.

Evercare Hospital Lahore is a 240-bed multidisciplinary tertiary care facility that strives to incorporate international best practices and the most advanced treatment facilities under one roof. 

Other members from the Evercare delegation included Ms. Maliha Sami Hussain, Business Partner, Impacts and Partnerships; Mr. Syed Iqbal Hussain, Senior Officer - Impact and Partnership Department; and Dr. Shazia Asim, Consultant Family Medicine.

They were welcomed by LUMS’ leadership team including Mr. Tariq Ahmed Sheikh, Director, Campus Health and Head, Cyber Security, IST; Ms. Nuzhat Kamran, Director, Office of Advancement. To provide a comprehensive overview of the many initiatives at LUMS, the guests were given a brief outline about the strategic developments at LUMS. Dr. Cheema expressed his gratitude towards the Evercare team and their commitment to save lives. He lauded their work and partnership with LUMS.

Mr. Ali appreciated the University’s support, stating, “Thank you for the opportunity. Both organisations can create an impact with each other’s support. We wanted to create a social impact and we appreciate LUMS for helping us in this journey.”

Representatives from Evercare Hospital Lahore also shared their ongoing collaboration with Dr. Safee Ullah Chaudhry, Department Chair, Department of Life Sciences and highlighted the hiring offers that they are extending to LUMS graduates who have pursued BS Biology or MS Healthcare Management and Innovation. “We don’t have channels to facilitate research - we have the data. We have started a fellowship programme and one of the basic areas for this is research which is why we wanted to partner with LUMS,” Dr. Asim added. 

The event concluded with a discussion over further collaboration opportunities.
